The Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Government of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, hereinafter referred to as the Parties,

Desiring to strengthen the friendly relations between the States of the Parties,

Striving to simplify the entry and exit, as well as mutual travel of citizens of the States of the Parties, holding valid diplomatic passports.

Article 1

Visa Exemption

The citizens of holding a valid diplomatic passport of the State of either Party shall enter, exit, transit and temporarily stay in the territory of the State of the other Party without visas for a period of up to thirty (30) days within one hundred eighty (180) days from the date of entry into the territory of the State of that Party.

Applicability of National Laws

The holders of valid diplomatic passports of the State of either Party , during their stay in the territory of the State of the other Party, shall follow the national laws of the State of that Party, including the rules of registration, stay, movement and transit prescribed for foreign nationals.

Visas for assignments

1. The holders of valid diplomatic passports of the State of either Party, being officials of diplomatic missions and consular posts, international organizations accredited in the territory of. the State of the other Party, shall enter, exit and stay in the territory of the State of the other Party without visas during the whole period of accreditation, if the documents confirming their official status are available. The sending Party shall inform preliminary the other Party about the appointment, of such officials through diplomatic channels.

2. Provisions stipulated in paragraph 1 of this Article are also applicable to the spouse, minor children, dependent parents and grandchildren under 18 years of age of the official of diplomatic mission, consular post or international organization, accredited in the territory of the State of other Party provided that they are holders of valid diplomatic or official passports of the State of the other Party.

3. The sending Party shall inform preliminary the other Party about accompanying family member of such appointed officials through diplomatic channels.

Article 4

Refusal of Entry and Suspension

1. Each Party reserves the right to refuse entry to the territory of its State or limit the period of stay of valid diplomatic passport holders of the State of the other Party without giving any reasons therefore.

2. Each Party may temporarily, in whole or in part, suspend the implementation of this Agreement due to reasons of national security, public order or the threat to the health of citizens of its State. The suspension shall not affect the holders of valid diplomatic passports who have already entered the territory of the State of the other Party.

3. The Parties shall inform each other through diplomatic channels, not later than seventy two (72) hours, of the implementation of the measures referred to in paragraphs 1 and 2 of this Article.

Exchange samples of passports

1. The Parties shall exchange within thirty (30) days from the date of signing of this Agreement through diplomatic channels, samples of existing diplomatic passports, including a detailed description of such documents.

2. Either Party, if it substitutes diplomatic passports or amends them during the validity of this Agreement, shall inform the other Party thirty (30) days prior through diplomatic channels and provide samples of new passports, including a detailed description of such documents.

Loss of Passport

l. The holders of valid diplomatic passports of the State of either Party, in case of loss or damage of travel documents in the territory of the State of the other Party, shall immediately inform the diplomatic Mission or consular Post of their own State, which shall notify the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the receiving state to take appropriate measures.

2. In case of lost or damaged passports, the diplomatic Mission or consular Post of the State of the Party concerned shall issue a new passport or other travel document, temporarily replacing the lost passport. Departure from the territory of the State of the receiving Party is possible in accordance with the provisions of this Agreement and the legislation of the State of the receiving Party.

Dispute Settlement

In case of disputes or disagreements on the implementation and interpretations of the provisions of this Agreement, the Parties shall resolve them by negotiations and consultations through diplomatic channels.

Revision and Amendments

This Agreement may be amended or supplemented by the mutual consent of the Parties through separate protocols, which shall become an integral part of this Agreement and shall enter into force according to the procedure provided in Article 9 of the Agreement.

Entry into Force, Duration and Termination

1. This Agreement is concluded for an indefinite period and shall come into force from the date of receipt of the last written notification on completion of the necessary internal legal procedures by the Parties for its entry into force.

2. Either Party may terminate this Agreement by giving a written notification through the diplomatic channels to the other Party. This Agreement shall be terminated after ninety (90) days from the date of receiving such notification from the other Party.

Done at Tashkent on 26 February 2025, in two (2) originals each in Uzbek and English languages, all texts being equally authentic.

In case of any divergence of interpretation of this Agreement, the English text shall prevail.
